Fonts vs. Typefaces
A typeface means a style of lettering that can be used in many different typesetting systems. A font (today) means a digital implementation of a typeface.
Please refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_font and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typefaces respectively. The Fontforge documentation also has a good glossary
SIL Open Font License sometimes uses the acronym OFL for Open Font License.
Open Font Movement
"Open Font Movement" is a clearer term related to Font Library and usage by a wide community of users of Open Font License. "Free fonts" are very often associated with distribute-but-don't-modify freeware fonts and don't reflect what this community is about.
